Product development is an interactive process and changes to specification is a probable event. Being iterative means both prone to changes but also that new ideas might be brought to the table, discussed, and later scrapped. To handle this Bose Research, have an approval process to ensure that the specification is updated with approved changes and to avoid that conceptual sidesteps, later scraped is not changing the direction of work.

The process for this is based on documented decision of a change, signed by both parties to ensure that the effect of the change for the project is well communicated and approved. All changes and the effect they have on the project will be covered also in the milestone process to ensure that all requested changes have been taken int account before a project state transition occur.
